Converting Magnum Jr to 2.4ghz
Re: Converting Magnum Jr to 2.4ghz
I would buy the FrSky DHT DIY kit, $30.00... Rx run about $25.00.
All you need to do is solder three wires; one wire (yellow) to the "CD8081" signal IC, on pin #11.
the other two wires are for power; run the Black(Ground) to your battery pack, run the Red(Hot) to the transmitter switch.
You COULD run the power off of the IC, BUT, you run the risk of overheating the IC when you solder the wires on.
I'm currently waiting for parts(telemetry screen),to finish my conversion.
I will post step by step instructions on how to do the conversion, Hopefully this weekend.

Re: Converting Magnum Jr to 2.4ghz
its been awhile, not so sure if there were updates on the DIY, check first before hacking it ( hahaha) but it sure is fun doing it and running it. Not so sure if your willing to put it on your $$$$ car.. hahaha, but for bashing it sure is fine..

its all about having fun....if I do this, it will be installed in either my JRX or Goldie, nothing like a vintage car running with a vintage (looking at least) radio
