My first car was a 1968 Mustang Fastback, and after getting me to and from High school, prom, work and college, I gave it to my younger brother, who drove it another 80K miles. Always wanting to correctly restore this era Mustang, I purchased this 1967 Fastback in Dallas Texas (1994). The car ended up needing much more work than originally anticipated. A summary of the major restoration work is as follows: 1 year search for correct date coded 289 engine (low mileage), Rebuild C4 Automatic Transmission, NOS Ford quarter panels, hood and fenders, Replaced twisted fender Aprons, new floor boards, Clean no rust Arizona sourced passenger door, Fomoco Windshield, Professional paint job in original Lime Gold color, New Saddle interior, New Chrome and all new mechanicals (suspension, brakes, springs, etc...). Options include: Wood Grain Steering Wheel, Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Factory AC, Fold Down Rear seat, Fog Lights, Hood Turn Indicators, Textured rear panel, Clock, Ford AM/FM Radio, Trunk Release, Factory GT exhaust, Carburetor and Intake, Gas Cap and wheels. Throughout the restoration process, I was told the car was not worth it. Well, I am proud to say the sweat and blood paid off and my car made the cover of Machine Design Magazine in 1996. For the past 20+ years of ownership, this stang is always a pleasure to drive on lazy back country roads......

Thanks Marc. Me either. It's been a real journey so far. We struggled with lining up the hood and fenders but it wasnt happening. I ended up finding slight damage to the radiator core support which we thought might be the issue. When we finally got it out of the car it was obvious though. Now in the process of sourcing a new passenger side fender. We've worked on the one on the car for hours but I think it's just too wavy.

trying to finish this project today or tomorrow its a 1998 s10 zq8 i picked up for $200 and a rifle... it ran and i drove it a few months until the trans went out on me a week ago so i built up a 350 i had lying around with other parts i had lying around grabbed a th350 trans (it allows you to use stock trans crossmember and drive shaft) bought the motor mounts and headers on c.l. for $150 all i need now is a radiator and ill have a v8 s10 for under $1000... cant beat that...

There is a company called "Jags That Run" that makes a book about swapping a V8 into the chevy s10... I have the book... Its for the older body style but some of the info might be useful to what you are doing. if you want it you are welcome to it just pay shipping.

I stood in line for 3 hours to do a ride along in the front seat of one of those 93 R's in 93' with the stunt driver and coordinator for Smokey and the Bandit movies, really awesome what that Fox body was capable of! Also had a Duc 916 SP2, sold like yours.....man I miss that bike

In its era the 93R was quite the slot car. I did an SVTOA open track day with it several years ago, had a blast. Even on rock-hard old tires it held its own. Of all the vehicles I’ve bought and sold throughout the years I miss my last Duc the most. I also had a red ’98 748 mono before that one.

In this shot, the red Golf is (was) my daily driver for 12 years. I took this pic on a drive with my friends. Unfortunately, I had to sell it when I took my current job as there was no space for it in the garage.


Here is the current car that is my wife's. Basically took all the mods from my Golf and put it on her car before I sold mine.
