SC10 shocks are 1.02" front & 1.39" bodies/1.32" shafts rear. SC10 4x4 are 1.18" (30mm) rear but are a larger bore (13mm).

So, the newer V2 shocks have a larger bore than the old standby hard anodized associated shocks?

I dont think so i think they are the same size bore or at least the ones on my b4.1 worlds buggy were the same.

V1 and V2 are only different by the way the o-rings load into the shock body. The SC10 4X4 uses a completely new shock, more the size of an 1/8th scale buggy (before they went even bigger), but with 1/10th scale lengths...

Here are 1.02s on the front of my OIN, truck tower

What JK said. The SC104x4 uses new 13mm big bore shocks. The the 2wd SC10 V2 shock kits have the same bores as the old hard-ano shocks but they're longer in the rears than the old 1.32" shock bodies.

For 1.32" V2 shocks with the traditional bore you'll need to get a set for the RC10GT2. Those have 1.32" shafts so you'll need more limiters.

For 1.18" V2's you'll need the set for the B4.1. I think those require a shorter rear tower though.

i haven't tried it yet, but i personally think 1.18's are the way to go up front on a worlds type front end. to me, the 1.02's bodies are too short.

Thanks guys, this is real good feedback. I'm gonna do some more research...maybe visit the hobby shop this weekend or something. Also, I'm guessing you can use a shorter shaft in the 1.32 V2 shocks, right?

I finally found my specs for my other old/new build and I have 1.02 bodies and shafts for the front and 1.18 bodies w/ 1.02 shafts in the rear.

I'd assume you'd be able to use shorter shafts in the 1.32" V2 but you should note that the V2 1.02" shafts have a different part number than the older 1.02" shafts so they may not be interchangeable.

I found some old style threaded shock bodies on clearance. So, here's an updated pic of the current status. Still needs a few other bits and the body painted.

Nice buggy. Good to see I'm not the only one working at a snail's pace.

I'm moving faster than scr8p! But seriously, wow, I didn't realize it had been that long. I have 2 weeks off for the holidays coming up. I hope to have this car finished along with painting 4 bodies: a viper for this car, a B44, a Kyosho Lazer and an Tamiya F-350. We'll see how may obstacles the wife puts up.

Just finished a kitchen and laying floors now! I've got it good though, my wife doesn't complain about the year long projects. We prepared meals on plywood counter tops for several months!

I just ran my woin car with the new v2 shocks. It was night and day difference. My car is so plush now. I went with the rc carbon towers and still have the buggy front setup. I would say if it's gonna be a runner the best upgrade would be the shocks. I went from racing with rc18s to being able to run with my buddies laser. 4x4
