A coworker had a Shinoda Boss mustang and some guy asked her that. Just thought what a dumb question. Yes its a real mustang, yes its a real car, yes its a real shinoda boss, yes its faster than your civic. So of course my question is, how many fake mustangs are there?

Re: Scr8p's shop
it's an older restoration. there's some things that need to be freshened up underneath the car. for instance..... the rear leaf spring are hazed up a little bit (rust), so they need to be stripped and redone. the lid on the master cylinder leaked and where it was dripping it ate some of the paint off in the engine compartment. so that'll get fixed up and resprayed. he also wants to yank the trans and have it rebuilt and put in a new clutch.Coelacanth wrote:what work does it need, though?? the biggest thing is at one point in time it was rear ended. well, the rear body panel is pretty much bondo from one side to the other. it wouldn't such a big deal, but the bondo is cracked at each hole where the letter studs go through. so, it all needs to be grounded out and fixed.

Re: Scr8p's shop
Is that the rarest car you've worked on? Only 1,935 of those ended up at American dealerships, with less than 50 ending up in Canada. According to Wikipedia (hardly a trustworthy resource, but...) it's estimated only about 1000 of those still exist.

Re: Scr8p's shop
I'd be willing to bet thats about twice of what actual numbers of these things still exist.Coelacanth wrote: it's estimated only about 1000 of those still exist.

Re: Scr8p's shop
I knew someone who destroyed one. He said thought he was doing about 150 when he rolled it. He said he was able to save the engine, that's it.
Cool car!

Re: Scr8p's shop
The rarest car we restored would be the 68 hurst olds from earlier in this thread. Its 1 of 515, but being as though it had a/c, its actually 1 of 183 (somewhere around there).Coelacanth wrote:Is that the rarest car you've worked on? That car will be going across the block at barrett jackon (scottsdale) in january. Unfortunately, I bet we won't get the recognition for the resto.

You do a great job restoring these old classics. What car has been your hardest project and what was your favorite project?

you know........ it's hard to say. each one presents it's own challenges that needs to be worked through. i would have to say that the 55 olds gasser would be at the top of the list for most difficult. my favorite......... that's a tough one. this 68 f-85 is probably up at the top. i'm really into the whole pro touring stuff so this one was right up my alley. plus, it's so plain jane. all of the cool stuff (suspension/brakes) is underneath.Dirtdiver wrote:You do a great job restoring these old classics.
