Re: mandatory "location" for approved BST members
Its happened to me a couple of times also where I quote a shipping price and then get the payment to find out they are in another country. The people I have had this happen with have been more than understanding about it when I contacted them and didn't have an issue with paying the extra shipping.
Is that what I am reading into this?

Kind of, first class only ended up only costing a little more but priority mail would have been $18 more. Shipping first class to Canada isn't terrible, its the wait that will suck

As Lonestar says, this is not controllable.
But I don´t see the problem. If making deals with someone just ask for his address before sending any shipping quotes.

if you say "$10 shipped" and the buyer wants you to stick to your word even though they live in ouzbekistan and they didn't tell you upfront, refund the money and tell them the real cost... I've always been upfront with all the sellers I've dealt with on the board and most people have.
Now... nothing prevents me from telling you I live right next door to you and then try to mess with you later... just don't ship
Paul
PS: updated my location just for you

I definitely make it clear that anything that says '$$ shipped' means within continental US, and any other destination is subject to additional shipping costs. of course adjust to your locale.

Re: mandatory "location" for approved BST members
personally, i don't see the reason why people can't/won't let their location be known. if you don't want to be specific with your location fine, but what's so bad with atleast listing a country?
from this point forward, if it's added to the requirement to gain bst access, it can be controlled. if you don't have a location listed in your profile, (in my best soup nazi voice)......... NO BST FOR YOU!!!!!
