I think there's been a post about this before actually. SOmehow I recall buffing with olive oil evens them out or something like that... NEone else remember the thread? Help scr8p and Charlie?

no amount of oil or buffing is gonna make any of the ones above match one another. :lol:

the shock bodies, like alot of the other ano, is all over the map.

I did the olive oil trick on ones that were gray looking and they turned the olive green color.

With hard anodizing the color depends on how long the parts are in the tank. The longer they're in, the darker they get. So from batch to batch they can vary a lot in color if the anodizing company doesn't monitor the time closely.

It also depends on the base material. We have a customer that requires a glass bead blast prior to anodizing on some parts and doesn't require it on others. The blasted parts produce a flat color, non-blasted parts are glossy. Like the differences in the first pics.

I remember the thread about rubbing them with olive oil as well and thought it was a joke at first.
