Awesome thanks. I thought the 12L only came with the aluminum motor plate but did another search just now and found a couple of pics of the nylon one. The mounted axle too seems to be from a 12e...it's hollow.

Yeah 12e could have been solid solid axle, solid hollow, or hollow diff. Lots of running changes! My lightweight 12e has a hollow steel diff axle.

That diff hub on the axle that's in the carriers is not 12e. Looks 12L to me, due to width

The 12L diff has a teflon(?) spacer inside it doesn't it? This one doesn't...it's all aluminum and too narrow for an insert. It's also meant to use a diff ring with a smaller ID than the standard Assoc ones.

I'm not sure, some diff hub hubs use a small stealth size ring but not sure which ones. The 12e and 12i use the same rings as a RC10

Maybe I am looking at it wrong. Is the hub on the axle more than one piece?

Could that axle be from T&A Machine? Had a hollow one from them for a 10LSS in the past.
Looked like this

I wish it were, but given the rust on it I'm gunna say it's not titanium.

When you get a chance post up a pic if the axle and if the hub comes off remove it so we can see what we are dealing with. As it sits I don't quite see what it is- if the hub comes off there should be a hub on the axle to hold a diff ring, if its part of the axle then it really makes no sense

Longer axle is the hollow one. Shorter one is solid. Both are tapered at around the 4" mark on the ruler, and that's what holds on the two thin, inner diff hubs in place. The ID on the thicker hubs is larger than the dia. of the axle. The two bronze hubs are a touch too large for an Assoc. diff ring,

The hub looks familiar but I'm really out of touch with the newer stuff (lol)

I think you have a couple great 12i/e axles and hubs but the rest....I don't know
