Ultima Top deck ( which version)
I came across this chassis & top deck today.
I knew I had it but only just found it today when I wasn't looking for it.
I always thought it was from the Ultima Pro but I have a Pro & the top deck is GRP. This top deck is alloy. The only Ultima that I don't have to check it with is the Pro XL . My Ultima 2 that I got was made in Kyosho's Kelron ( plastic) Upper & lower chassis.
So what would this be off??
Cheers

Re: Ultima Top deck ( which version)
I have never seen an alloy upper on any ultima- That's an interesting piece.
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Scale Car Series Ultima chassis and top deck. Gives longer wheelbase, apparently.

Re: Ultima Top deck ( which version)
Aaah you are right.
The top deck & bottom chassis is a little longer. In saying that I should be able build up a longer w/b Ultima. ??
Or convert my Pro into a longer W/B version.

The top deck is common for that entire series, but the 7 slotted chassis is spefic to one model I believe: the others were kelron. I'm throwing a long ball on this but I think it's for that funky lookingrace car; a 2-seater of nissan?

That's it.
I have one of those top decks too. One day I'll pick up a kelron chassis and use the longer wheelbase for a stadium truck; with rc10T arms for the correct stance.

Re: Ultima Top deck ( which version)
Thanks guys.
So it's a rare chassis being alloy or should I say not too common??
Mr ED. If you want a Kelron chassis I have one you can have. Postage would be cheap being a plastic plate
I will never use it
Thanks for the info again.

Re: Ultima Top deck ( which version)
It seems that the particular chassis has been used on more than a couple of OR´s.Mad Racer wrote:Thanks guys.

If You can find a copy of the 1990´s mini cataloge, I think You´ll be able to see the different versions there.
Yes, I think the chassis is rare, I search ebay twice a week for Kyosho Optimas and Ultimas and I can´t remember seeing a nip "Ultima" seven slot alloy chassis.

Re: Ultima Top deck ( which version)
I found out a couple years ago that Kyosho released different versions of those cars in the US vs. ROW (rest of the world). The scale series in the US were all based on the ultima 2 chassis (kelron). I know the versions in Europe had aluminum chassis...but I didn't realize that the top plate was also aluminum.

Re: Ultima Top deck ( which version)
Thanks Guys.
The 300ZX looks like it. So was that the only car that the alloy 7 slot chassis is off?
Different spec to the rest of the world. You learn something new every day. I got it in a trade I did about 5 yrs ago for a Ultima. He gave me the chassis & top plate as a extra. Even though the Ultima had a Kelron Chassis. It's the top plate that really interested me as it's alloy. I really had no idea what it was so I just threw it in my parts bin & even forgot about it.
I had plans on building another Ultima up with all my parts I have got over the yrs so this chassis may see some use.
