No worries... I'm happy to run the old motors if only for novelty vintage nostalgia. What else would be recommended to give a bit more output? I'm running Venom nimh packs in the old cars. The TS has a rotary servo operated speed controller (for now) and the Optima Pro will have a '90 vintage Novak esc.
Out of interest, what do you mean by 'temp' the motors?
Keep the advice coming by the way... I've been out of this since the late 80's, 1990 at the latest, and I was 15 then, so I'm as good as a noob.
Cheers!
Mike

ha... for a brushed mill, if you cannot touch it for more one second or so, it's too hot really... brushed mills have a very specific smell when they're too hot, I guess it's the brush lube that smells like this. I cannot give you a Farenheit range, but if it's too hot, you definitely know it (and it's too late for these poor magnets and that fluo-rainbow comm )mjtown wrote:Ah - cool. What temperatures should I be aiming for and avoiding?
Anyone has a temperature range available, knowing that if one doesn't use an exergen it's so inaccurate anyway that it becomes useless ?

Cool, thanks Paul. I'll give that a go... I can't wait to get her going again. Possibly tomorrow
