Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica (Upper Deck Drafted)
I got the rear section done and I have the bolt pattern down. I printed the chassis and tested the fit with the bulkhead and the tranny, fits perfectly. next up is actually running an upper and lower chassis to use for mock up.
I also was able to get my chassis material ordered as well after months of waiting, I am about 3 weeks from getting the material with the 30 degree kick up.

Where do you find graphite with a 30 degree bend just out of curiosity? Are you custom ordering it? Great project, one I've wanted to do since I was 15!

This thing's going to end up more expensive than the original handcrafted AE cars
Fantastic stuff Jake!

Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica (Arms Done, Mock up Photos)
I have sat down and got the arms drawn up and I am pretty happy with how they turned out. Since I need to do this right the first time, I am going through several stages of mock up with this car. I would hate to machine the parts then realize I should have changed something. I cannot draw 3D so I am doing this the old fashion way. Plus it gives me the chance to see the parts I am not machining and how they fit on the drawings.
There are some very minor differences in the arms but they are pretty darn close to what I could see in the pics. I will be machining an injection mold for the arms since it would take hours and really small endmills to make the arms. I still need to find someone who is willing to do the molding for the arms. The first two guys I spoke with said no
. So if any of you know someone with a home injection molding machine, I am all ears.
I just got conformation on the chassis material. Hopefully I should have the 30 degree plate in the next week and a half.
Enjoy the pics, it is really coming along nicely. I figure it would be better to show these pics VS some drawings.

You should ask associated directly. Mostly everything is offshore now, but maybe they have a good relationship with prototype molding shops. If you are making the molds, you are doing the hard part
Maybe Mr. Husting will chime in....
and while you are at it, make a set for me.

Looks like I found someone who is willing to mold the arms for me
I will be machining the molds in about two weeks, than sending the molds off for the arms to be created. Once i get those arms done, this car is really going to come together. Stay tuned.

Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica (Arms Done, Mock up Photos)
out of curiousity, are you going to use the appropiate later rc10 graphite chassis? and mill it to your drawings? or are you going to cut all your own chassis parts?
