Re: Pink RPM Truggy
I bought that chassis, the rear cell sits inside the bulkhead, and the battery tray covers the front three ???Mr. ED wrote:Why does that chassis only have 5 battery slots?
(Or has my week finally started taking its toll and have I lost all counting capability?)

Yeah, I've got some early stuff that was dyed black a long time ago...it turns brown. How long can the process go on...?Tadracket wrote:Looking sharp there Doc. You sure know how to breathe life back into some parts. I am going to have to do the double dip method on some stuff.
QUIT DYING WHITE PARTS BLACK...DO IT TO CRAPPY PINK, BLUE OR GREEN STUFF!!!!.

I figured that out; the question was more of a joke really.scr8p wrote:the 6th cell will be in the rear bulkhead.Mr. ED wrote:Why does that chassis only have 5 battery slots?
Kind of stupid design if you ask me.

Re: Pink RPM Truggy
That sounds pretty cool though I don't know what it is I am afraid, is it the steering blocks for the axles (I got out bid on that inline kit) or the servo saver arrangement? Just shoot me a pic and a price and hopefully we can work something out.asashaw wrote:i have a pair of very close to new rpm front steering enhancement kit i dyed black and would complete your ride. i was gonna ebay. I will post a picture soon if you have interest.

Not sure but it wasn't me, I thought as there were no other bidders it wouldn't go for too much, I think I bid about $15 or something...(I am not familiar with RPM prices though)RichieRich wrote:So, who won the spindles?

Re: Pink RPM Truggy
I just re-dyed the black parts black again as a lot of them had been used and were scuffed so were white and black. Re-blackening them really makes them look a lot better at least from a distance!templeofspeed wrote:Yeah, I've got some early stuff that was dyed black a long time ago...it turns brown. The white parts I have I just cleaned and they are still white so the purists amongst us can relax

Re: Pink RPM Truggy
Thanks Mr.ED I'll ask them about contacting Keil.
So my latest update is;
Last night I made some of the missing parts for the servo saver. It needed the posts which support the bearings. I made these out of some Andy's threaded body mounts. The bottom part had no thread which was ideal and fitted the bearings perfectly. I just extended the thread with a wing nut I found to cut the threads and tapped the base for some gold screws. I will re-dye them black tonight as they have a white part where I cut them to length.
I have finished modding and cleaning the chassis at work today. I drilled the rear mount holes and counter sunk them too. I also managed to clean the glues from stickers, servo tape, chassis protector film etc, off with WD40 See pics.

Now I must get back to work but I have the fun of part building the chassis this evening.

Re: Pink RPM Truggy
Thanks mate, yes the chassis protector sure did its job, I just wish the guy had been able to afford to do the nose and tail tooasashaw wrote:looks new under the chassis protector! DAMN!

Still with the bumper in place the nose should look fine and with some radio gear and a battery in place it shouldn't look to bad. Or maybe I'll find some of that Rustoleum paint you mentioned to touch up the chassis, ooh er!

Last nights progress or rather lack of it, included me mounting the rear arms and mounts. They aren't stripped which is a big bonus however I found that the rear arm hingepins are far to long and so I need to cut them down and make them fit. Asso-man! has just kindly informed me that this kit came with its own hingepins and thats my only option

Anyone want to measure there inner and outer hingepins for me? If not I guess I can guesstimate!
However even with mdified hingepins I believe I am going to have to trim my rear bulkhead to clear the rear arms. This sure isn't an easy conversion. Hope it goes like stink though.

With all the problems I found all at once I just went out for a ride on my bike to blow off the anger
