It's been a while since I've added any pics to this thread but my Maxima (and Mustang) have undergone lots of TLC over the past 18 months.

I decided to customize a saddle chassis among other things and I am really happy with how it came out.

Back when Alex ran his Mustang at Knox/Victoria on the day leading up to the enduro we found the rear most part of the chassis spine broke off when it came into contact with the track surface one too many times. Sadly this pretty much rendered the chassis spine useless and a valuable lesson was learnt.

To combat this I came up with the idea to fabricate a plate of 1.6mm firbreglass to cover and protect this area.

I thought this might be a good idea to share with anyone else wanting to run their Mustang.

Another real issue I have had with both my Mustang and Maxima has been with the metal diff parts.
Running in high grip situations coupled with stonger voltage (lipo's), esc's and motors I have found the steel diff outdrive parts to cause issue. Where the little M2.6 cap head screw goes through one outdrive and into the other there seems to be a weak point where part of the male side of the outdrive snaps off when put under high stress (landing from jumps anyone

). This has caused me issues with both my runners and I came up with a stronger solution.

My friend Thomas (aka-Bugle) helped me out by drilling out and maching a M3 thread right through the male side of the outdrive. Both items need to be machined to make this work. This removes the fragile stepped down section and allows the M3 screw to pass from one outdrive through to the other.

Now I run M3 high tensile screws through all my diffs and the weak portions of the diff are no longer there. Originaly the M2.6 screw was nipped up tight and the stepped section created enough free movement to stop the two outdrives locking up as one. Now I tighted the M3 screw till the diff is tight enough yet loose enough to operate. An M3 grub screw is set into the opposing side tightening up against the main cap head screw and stopping it coming loose.

This has worked really well for me and no issues have come up in this area again.

Thats why i made this. Also has a thicker fibreglass bottom 2.4mm

Well i made the one on this car. Have another one to make for my maxmia next week. just waiting for the postman.
I put two extra bits on the rear as you can see from the carboard template i made up.

Great find! I know Alex has many MANY PB spares both new and used. No doubt any help you might lend him could result in a few bits and bobs traded in exchange??
