Heres one for you guys....

I got this in a box along with a Tamiya Monster Beetle which has a Track Master belt drive transmission in it. The car is complete including the tranny so I have no idea what this is...it will spin one direction like a one way clutch but its too wide to fit inside the tranny...I'm stumped...

Anyone recognize this RC10 body? Came across it in a Jan. '89 RCCA article about the A&L trailing arms.

Nah...I've actually been eye-balling the PL Class One body on Eau Rouge's RC10 recently and that's definitely not it. The Class One has a much larger cockpit with a sharper slope....that body on the A&L car has a round roof almost like the original Protech body. The rear-end over the trans & motor is also different.

trackmaster is the brand. The turbo glide uses a belt, and this one I think was simply called direct drive.

I think Eddie is right, but LTO Dave should him in (he has a few if both). I think the trackmasters were cheaper
Non machined side plates and stamped alloy and or carbon, where as the Jcar was a better machined unit-

I had the Trackmaster and still do have a JCar DD. That's definitely a JCar. I thought the TM unit was pure junk. The JCar is a much better unit.

one of my lhs's, i was digging around in the back and unearthed 2 nip J-car trannys, along with 2 nip J-car on-road conversion chassis' for the rc10. the manager i deal with wasn't there for me to get my "special pricing", so an employee put them under the counter until he came in the next day. that was over a year ago and i haven't been back there since. maybe they're still there waiting under the counter.
