Now who is the box art painter?

Post by Winger »

I did search for this but all the threads I saw are early 2011. I just picked up a protech body and wing and considering sending the body out for a sweet paint job. Would like someone in US if possible and that has done the box art paint jobs with examples. Does anyone know anyone fitting this criteria?

The only guy here is Eau Rouge but I don't think he's doing them anymore.

I always recommend looking thru the paint section and finding the painters that impress you with their work and have lots of examples. Look for qualities in their painting that you desire in yours and contact them. There are some masters here in all styles. For example: I'm a master of painting a body all one ugly color with bleeding at every tape point. Most will give you a reasonable price because they enjoy doing it also.

Is he still selling decal kits at least? I sent him an email through his website and it bounced back?

I have been known to do a box art body or two. Check out my gallery under Brainfart Designs. These are not exact replica's, but I can do exact paint.

He grew kind bitter and weird. IMHO. I'd personally look elsewhere, but maybe I'm still just a bit bitter myself for him intentionally taking down his pics from this site. I apologize to Doug if I'm wrong, but it seemed pretty clear cut. vintagemishal and quite a few others do outstanding work. As I've suggested before, please review the paint gallery and carefully look for someone who stands out in your opinion. Avoid any threads that I may have started please.

I would kill for box art decals, exact ones. Surely someone here is a graphic designer and can do up a sheet.

Theres some reproduction box art body/wing combo and decals on ebay. The body looks sweet but it's pricey. Same with decals. The body come with driver, lights, window mesh and repro decals.
