New guy on the site
This isn't my first post but I thought I should introduce myself to the rest of you. My name is Darrin Burt and I have been into r/c for around 22 years and have raced carpet oval competitively for the last 17. Although I am not new to associated, my cars have all been pan cars from the company.
I am just starting to learn about the original buggies and I must say I have had alot of interesting reads on here so far!

Re: New guy on the site
I am from N.W. Pennsylvania and my home track is Lucky 13 raceway in Hannaville, Pa.
In my area it is one of the oldest continually operating carpet oval tracks. The runline is only 65 ft. which makes for excellent racing. We have run everything from 12th scales, pan cars, EDM's, stadium trucks, buggies, legends, and even e-maxxes!
Personally my favorite class is 12th scale but I have run most of the aforementioned classes.
I know there are a couple videos on youtube. I will try to post a link or two.

My dad's running on a hook and loop layout that is just a tad longer (but the corners are not as paperclip narrow). Guess forward bite isn't a factor there

that timing system sounds like an old atari video game! I don't think I could concentrate past the 2 minute mark, I have a hard enough time running 13.5 on concrete track twice that size!!!

I never thought about it sounding like Atari!! Running on this track is kind of tricky at first, but you soon learn how to run in traffic, because the whole race is in traffic!
We also run buggies, etc here as long as the tires don't rip up the carpet. I think this fall we will see a few of the rc10 classics returning and it will be 1985 all over again.
I for one am looking forward to seeing them on the track again.

OMG ... that made me dizzy watching it. Reminds me of a dog chasing his tail! LOL! Seriously, I can't even imagine running in a continuous loop like that without getting dizzy.
