Those black cylinders on computer cables are for reducing electromagnetic interference. It's okay that you tossed it.Lowgear wrote:...
This is an odd occurrence. A couple of days ago I pulled a box out of the crawl space full of old computer stuff that I hadn't seen since the late 90's. I went through it before bringing it out for garbage and there was one of those black cylindrical things in it. I thought what the heck is this thing? It was magnetic but the field was very weak so I chucked it back in the box.

That's for a blackfoot. Had one on a blackfoot that I sold a few years ago:civilguy wrote:Ok, I have been cleaning out boxes of stuff and stumbled on this. Anyone know what it may be? All I know is it's shiney, pretty and new. The box had Clod parts and pan car parts (but that may not be of any help). I am thinking some sort of Clod mount, but am likely completely off.

Thanks... I am starting to think it fits both. I have had confirmation at ClodTalk that it's for a Clod. There seem to be plenty of holes to mount on both... I will try lining it up on the Clod I have.
Anyone think the small magnet things are RC-related?

That's what I was thinking but only one part is tapped (the hubs?)Phin wrote:How strong of a magnet are they? And do they stick to those hubs?
Could be body mounts.

They are lightly magnetic... the grubs stick right to them but I wouldn't think they would hold very well under heavy use.
Stumped... very odd for the knowledge base here.

I remember seeing magnets like that sold as filters for servo leads to reduce glitches. Not sure if that is feasible for what you have, but who knows????

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Finally got around to taking some better pics of those hubs. All the hubs with 3 holes for the wheel have the same spacing between the holes.
Diff hubs. The two screw holes are the same distance apart as a standard 4 hole pan car wheel hub. These are for a 6mm axle.. First two are 1/4" ID and have the same screw hole spacing as a mini-mag or yoke hub. Second two are 5mm ID. 7mm ID Approx. 12mm ID on the first two. Last one is a 1/4" ID. 1/12 hubs? 1/4" ID screw holes are spaced approx 17/32" apart center to center.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I have very similar looking wheels that mount to a drive pin. If these are the same, they are for the YR-4 and Y-10 (or whatever Yokomo's SuperScale Group C racer is called).Bimdapogs wrote: 2. Yok 1/12 (?) wheels, for which car?
