should i build the schumacher cart xls that i have NIB or should i leave it since i already have one built? I also found a nib kyosho optima at a yard sale about a month ago....i got it for 100 dollars, is that a good deal?
That Cat is a great find! I am still hopeing for a garage sale find, or a buddy with a random old car in the back of his closet some day. And your workshop / collection is amazing!!!
I decided not to build the NIB CAT xls...I think i will just put it aside....The only thing missing out of the box is the original manual.....anyone have one?
Here are just a few other pics of the stuff i have, the vintage stuff i have is on the wall or in boxes, most of the stuff hanging on the wall or in boxes is new never used or unbuilt...the stuff on the shelves are a mix of some use some new builds...most of the stuff on the shelves is not as vintage as the stuff on the wall.

If You ain´t gonna build it - what´s the manual for then
slowboy wrote:^ where did they come from farmer?????
about 10 yrs are so ago maybe longer they were made exclusivly for the Hot Rod Shoot Out down in Saugas CA there were having a spec series of racing and losi i belive was the Co that came out with those blue tires ( appropriately named the smurf tires) for the series, but man they sucked they ran blue groove for the series. And they were so hard and didnt have any traction what so ever, people were trying every type of traction compound and trick to make them soft they where even setting they on fire to try to soften them, they were absolutly junk, those where the hand outs and you had to use them
how did you come about these?

Can anyone tell me whether the parts for the Schumacher Cat, Cat XL and Cat XLS are the same? Also, there appear to be various parts listed on EBAY with part numbers beginning with U. Does anyone know whether I can locate a list which sets out which...

Obvioulsy, that's an open invitation to anyone who can help me out with getting hold of NIP parts or a NIB kit.....
The CAT XLS was an upgraded version of the Cat XL, which itself was a long wheelbase version of the original CAT (Competition All Terrain) buggy. Distribution in America was initially handled by Trinity as can be seen in this ad from 1988:
Well i was in my basement the other day looking at all my vintage cars and noticed my cat that was hanging from the rafters. Yes i would hang my old car i retired from my rafters dirt and all. It looked lonely so i pulled it down and broke out all...
this is one of the other resto's i was able to complete this month. Thank you for all the great scans on the CAT (remember the design?) and hints on diffs. The color combo is that flashy i nearly wasn't able to capture it properly. Also...

Hey guys, I thought I'd throw up some pics of my modded Shumacher Cat XLS runner. I've had this car for many years now and it has proven to be a great fun super aggressive car to run. These things corner like nothing else, even making a XX4 look...

Yep that's me, no worries. :)
Haven't really done anything with my Cats in a while. I keep getting sidetracked with my RC planes. These days I find driving RC cars somewhat dull and boring, lacking in dimension, though my brushless lunchbox is...
I am very torn between these two for my next car and need some help deciding one way or the other. I am equally sentimental about both as I couldn’t afford either back in the day.
I am looking for a 4wd Classic to bash around with. As far as I can...

I'd like to own the CAT re-re, but my answer would still be the Javelin...regardless of criteria. 8)
I have been meaning to post some pics of my NIP CAT XLS build for a while now. So here we are. The build started with being one which was about 95% nip with the remaining parts being good condition second hand. However, I have since managed to...

Charles,
Absolutely gorgeous build. Can't wait to see some pics with a painted shell. Definitely a cool looking buggy.
