Trick looking nitro marine engines?

Post by proffesso »

Hey guys, It's kind of out of the realm of cars here but well, whatever.

Who makes / made really trick looking model marine engines? I'm looking for .21 - .46 sized stuff.

Performance doesn't matter since it most likely will be shelved. I really just after something that looks "hotrod."

I have an original skiboat hull and need running gear / engine for it. My grandfather originally made these hulls 20+ years ago, and having a new untouched one, I'm going to do a bit of a showboat / last hoorah version. Actually, I plan on doing this with all the hulls he used to make.

So far I've found-

What do you guys think? Any recommendations? I'll get whatever parts I can polished or anodized, along with some brushed aluminum stuff to round it off.

I would say an old OPS motor, or a Kosmic but for the life of me I can not find what I am looking for in the web right now. To bad that Supercharged OS motor from the 90's was airplane specific, that roots blower on the back would look at home in this boat.

put a pair of marine heads on that...could be a winner. would totally love dual symmetrical pipes as well.

I'd go for something with the carb facing forward so you can run a big polished mac tuned pipe hanging straight out the back.

I like the billet engine at the bottom of the list myself.

yeah im thinking along those lines, but I want to have something a bit extreme, so a pair of 21's side by side, geared to a single shaft.

I quite like the k&b engines, they have an old-school tough look that I think works

A pair of K&B .45's with exhaust throttles would be SICK, IMHO.

I would also go with K&B.
