hey i got a sledge hammer for $40 on rcuniverse.com and im gonna start restoring it when it gets here and yes it will be PuRpLe

I'd take a sledgehammer anyday over a stampede. Just my opinion on that though. I like the overshocked chassis of the sledge and the way it bouced.

agreed. black chassis sledge is far more fun then a pede.
go with an esc. msc's are all good and well but id just as soon track down a sort-of-era-correct esc and run that... infact thats exactly what ive done! i even impress myself sometimes
if it'll give you any inspiration here is my cobbled and bastardized sledge
