I never really thought much of the Boomerang but after owning this since they first came out in the Re re I have really appreciated the Boomerang.

A few simple mods have been done. Shocks with Losi Springs, Custom Nylon Wing that actually produces some down force. Cvd's up the front. CRP front arm brace, Hot Shot Re re center Drive Shaft, Wasp rear stabilizer bar. 19t Brushed motor. 2.2" 5 Star Wheels with Losi Rubber.

Sharp looking Boomerang. What shocks are those? They reminded me of shocks Trinity made bitd.

Not too many Tamiya cars intrigue me, but the Boomerang was one of the few. It was one of their better performers, and was also quite affordable...and IMHO, it had better looks than most of their other cars. I like the Boomerang's looks better than all the Hotshot variants, the Bigwig, Astute, Egress, and other ones that came later. The proportions look great with the Boomerang.

Nice Boomerang! I am planning to do a restore on mine, as soon as I am finished with my RC10T. Any issues using the re-re Hot Shot center shaft?

When I built up my rerelease Boomerang I opted for the alloy centre shaft from the rere Hotshot also. Powered by a 13t EZRUN system the car was awesome to drive. Not long after running it I found the centre shaft was bent. Not sure if this would be an issue for anyone else but I am interested to see if anyone else has noticed this happening with this item.

For me the Boomer would have to be one of Tamiya's early buggies that they got right. Having never driven one before I found it was definitely a better car to drive than the Hotshot and in the right hands can still perform well on the vintage circuit.

Wow, I didn't even realize they did a re-re on the Boomerang! Mine is the original, I think I purchased it in 1988 or 89. The center shaft on mine bent, it is much lighter gauge wire than the one you have. Do the new shafts fit in the original?

The Hot Shot/ Super Shot Re re will fit straight in.

You just have to buy the matching dog bone drive cups that slide into the the gearbox .

Some e bay stores sell the matching cups but normally have to buy all the drive cups.

Not that much for all of them. I have them in all my shot cars & Big Wig..

The Shocks are Yeah Racing. I use them on most of my vintage runners as they are alloy, threaded & take losi springs.

I drill the pistons out with a 1/16th drill add 30wt oil and they are awesome. You can buy them in 10mm increments.

Some people have had quality issues but i have never had any problems. Bought over 25 sets so far...
