you think thats loud you should hear one with a metal spur.
i always take the whole motor mount out, it's so much easier that way.
my esc wire goes the normal route but instead of going over the center shaft i go under, i also take out the servo/rec box to aid in getting the connector through that tiny hole.
i ran a few laps last night on our track....with my b4, getting psyched for sunday!
i'm running the rc8be, ftb4 (first gen, shorty) and my rc10t. thats right og 10t gonna go beat on some modern trucks!

Do those conversion sets include motor mounts that can simply attach to the holes for the nitro motor mounts?

If that's the place to show off one's BL 8th offroad, here's my MBX6 Eco... just built a few weeks ago, has only been run 3 packs, 2 in the yard one at the track as the weather's SUCKED so far in switzerland!

Nice looking buggies guys. I ran Mugen when I raced nitro. I started with a MBX4 XRWorks and then had 3 MBX 5's.
Mugen is the only buggy I will ever run. I miss that car so much!!

I ran my RC8Be last night for a bit more time in the street to get a feel. Apparently is nose heavy on jumps because I had my first unfortunate upside down crash jumping a curb in front of my house,
. First scratches on shock tops and front shock tower, oh well.
It's still a loud, angry beast. The speed and turn-in are tremendous just zipping around the street. I want to take it to the not-so local (a bit of a drive for me) 1/8th scale outdoor loose dirt track and try it out.

With 1/8 buggy. 90% is "in air" throttle control. If the ass-end is kicking over, your springs may be too stiff. The throttle plays a HUGE roll in how your car reacts in the air, unlike some of the 1/10 buggies.

did you get off the throttle over the jump? that will cause a nose dive every time.
do you havb any drag brake dialed into the esc? turn it off if you do.
if you spend some time jumping experiment with applying throttle to lift the nose or braking if the nose goes to high.
with 1/8 buggies you can "fly" them, throttle and brake inputs will greatly change the flight path.

Thanks guys, very helpful. Yes I have drag brake on the RX8 dialed into 4 (out of 13 I think) so I should set it back to 0? I probably did let off the throttle when I hit the curb so that would explain it. Clearly I need to experiment and fine tune my driving for some of these skills I lack such as getting the car prepped for the landing. I've tried mid-air throttle a bit in with my 2wd 1/10 buggy but didn't notice that it made much difference.
I've watched the youtube videos of the ROAR 1/8th electric buggy nationals and it's pretty amazing to watch them come off the jumps and I could tell something was going on when they were airborne because they were too perfectly placed on landings to be an accident.
BTW, the brakes on the thing are incredible, not sure if it's a function of the esc and motor or also the 4wd drivetrain helping to slow the car.

turn the drag brake to zero, you don't want it on.
the only time i'd run a db on a 1/8 is if i was running dirt oval, to get a consitant "kick out".

Kaiser's right. Turn that drag brake off. "Flying" a 1/8 buggy takes skill, but its acquired pretty fast, lol. With the size of some of the jumps this class can handle, you have to be able to control it in the air.
