An RC10 should not hit a nitro Jump

Post by soniccj5 »

I was at the track yesterday trying to get some practice with my RC10 for the VONATS. I was practicing inside for a pack then swapped in my LiPo and went from a 20th pinion to a 27tooth with the intention of running the outdoor track for a pack.

The track was built mostly for 1/8 nitro cars, so the jumps are huge. I did a few laps going slow, then for what ever reason, I decided to open it up on the straight before the table top that has a good lip on it. You can imagine my shock when I was almost eye level with my car, and I was on the drivers stand. The tires ballooned up to twice their size trying to keep the nose up. I was not in the car, but I got the same feeling I would have on my BMX bike before I would have a horrible landing. Nothing broke, but it was an ugly landing. After that, I picked up my car, went to the pits, put a 22 tooth pinion on and went back to the inside track.

The good news is I was doing ok keeping up with some B4s and Losi 22s on the indoor track.

I jump my RC10!
Not that high, though. I'm amazed nothing broke. Just goes to show, the RC10's actually pretty tough, probably one of the most durable electrics Associated ever made.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

What motor are you running? I run a 22 on my VONATS car with a 19t motor.
