Re: Tall crawler tire?
People used to cut the Imex duallies in half and run one tire on each rim. They had chevron and spiked treads. Those were a hot item a few years ago before crawling really took off, probably 2003 or 2004ish. They worked great. Now those wheels are out of production and pretty expensive. Don't know if I'd cut a set up.
It won't be much narrower, but another old trick is to cut one of the beads off a stock wheel. It will make the wheel 1/4" or so narrower and will kind of balloon the tire out a bit, giving it more traction. Just make sure to keep the inner ridge of the cut bead in tact.
I'm sure there are some narrower tires available, but I'm not up on current tires. Maybe check RC4wd.

Re: Tall crawler tire?
I did have a set of the duallies on one of my trucks but I couldnt get decent traction on flat rock surfaces while crawling. They worked well if you got bite on edges though.Great on smaller rock but not good on large stuff. I would like to try a tire like i see on those small crawlers but I think they are all 2.2.

Re: Tall crawler tire?
I was looking on RC4wd today and it looks like they've got some pretty tall skinny tires for 2.2 rims. Maybe not quite as tall as Clod tires, but pretty tall. What do people use in the super crawler class these days?

Re: Tall crawler tire?
One of the guys found these for me. i really like the tire but I cant seem to find the rims i need. I am useing 14mm wideners and i need a rim that will take a 2.8 tire.
