Anyone have any good experience with these? I'm looking to get one for my SC10 kit I'm fixing to preorder. Word on the street is changing the steering servo on a sc10 is a NIGHTMARE, so I wanted to look into something long term.
My 1/8 scale mindset is telling me use a BLS351, but I think a BLS451 would suffice.

Lots of servo for a SC truck IMO, unless of course your talking about 4wd- the BL resolution is superb- but I was also surprised at the XP1501 resolution for the money and the specs other than BL are very close
We are getting the 4wd FT Kits. On alot of the servos I'm looking at, they are rated 4.8v-6.0v. The lipos in the truck are 7.4v. Does this have any affect on the servo?

Yep, the 8.44 peak and 7.4 nominal voltage up the speed and torque. The 4.0 and 6.0 ratings are based off of minimum required input (4.0) and the average 5 cell receiver pack (6.0) you can't flow 11.1 but you can run a 2 s
do the servo's have a separate power wire? otherwise, you are going to get out of the speed controller whatever the BEC supplies. I'd assume it's probably a little hotter than 6 volts regulated from whatever input you have.
For an ESC, I plan to run the LRP SXX TC Spec V2 with a Reedy Sonic 550 4.0 Brushless Motor.
The Reedy Saddle Packs are 2s 7.4v 5200mah 60c.
I want t put the best possible steering servo in this truck, that I wont have to worry about during the racing season. Brushless sounds neat, and seems to be a servo that will last awhile.

It's driving me nuts trying to find the right servo to get for this build. Almost everything I find is rated at 6.0v. Any help guys? I want a top notch servo for this build.

Again, the 6.0v "rating" is based off an old measurement of a 5 cell receiver pack. 2s lipo (7.4) is fine

I've run the Futaba BLS451 in 1/8th scale buggy, 1/10 short course, and 1/10 buggy. It is an awesome servo. There are cheaper ones out there for sure, but I personally have the least trouble out of Futaba.
