blackfoot tires

i have some blackfoot tires that are hard but not cracked yet, what are some ways to soften them back up? i hate for them to go to waste, i thought of armor all, maybe someone has a better idea???

they were hard when they were new :lol: my buddy got a gal of armorall and soaked his in a bucket for a week and they were soft and shinny

Theres also a person on eBay that sells reproductions in a softer compound.

Haven't tried it myself...try a search at Tamiyaclub.com forums. I read something about smearing them in peanut butter and sealing in a Zip-lock bag. Something about the oil in the peanuts. Sounds weird but I guess it couldn't hurt to try. Not sure if you would use creamy or crunchy, though?!

i might try the crunchy lol, next time i go to the store i'll look for some peanut oil, i'll let you know if it works

I used dielectric silicone grease on a set of RC-10 tires. Problem is they are always greasy now.
