I always favor the RPM worlds builds for some reason, and also wanted to put together a gold car with white parts. Figured I'd make an attempt at killing two cars with one build. Funny how I despised the white parts back in the day and made every attempt to dye all of them black. Using a pretty nice lighter gold B stamp chassis(pics don't show it well) that also kind of reminds you of the earliest cars, along with a few other pieces anno'd to match. This is going to be a mixed bag of old with new trying to put together pieces from all of the different builds that I like. More custom than anything I suppose. All the other parts are ready to finish up this build except for the shocks. I have something in mind for them, but like to hear opinions. Here is what I have finished so far.
I would ditch the truck rear tower and go with a custom matching tower to the front, maybe looking like an associated worlds, or maybe just a clean stock one, early, with just 2 upper mount holes.
for shocks, I'm thinking a nice brushed aluminum with gold collars and cups. OR, hard anodized with gold caps, collars and cups.
sorry, but a truck tower on the front of a buggy just drives me nuts. and unless you're planning on slamming the body, there's no reason to use a truck rear. all it does is stand the shocks up.
i know what front shock tower i'd go with, but i don't want to look too much like a promoter.
I was kinda thinking of some early gold color anno'd shocks and caps. Kinda like the hard anno idea too. Need to pin down a couple of rear tower designs hopefully using the same material as the front tower as I think it fits pretty well.
I was looking through several of your builds scr8p, and I did notice how you don't like the truck front tower... For some reason, the connected front tower is what I like best with some of the old is new builds. I do agree the rear truck tower ain't cuttin' it. Does the material that (Edit: Jaydub) uses match up with the stock truck front tower?
you mean jaydub? the frp towers i've got from him, they don't seem to have the transparency that an ae tower has. i don't know the best way to describe it, but it's not a great match. even far apart of the chassis you'd probably notice it.

thanks !!
Here ya go. If you cut a straight line like the template is shaped, it leaves some of the countersunk portion of the old holes. I gave the cut a bit of a curve around the new drilled holes to get the old countersunk parts out.
A little more progress... Found a really cool set of universals in the stash. Not sure who made them? Used the 3.5mm Lunsford heavy Tie rods and RPM white ends which match pretty well considering they are bright white. Still undecided on the shocks, but leaning towards a real light gold anno. I'm doing almost a clone of this car to run, but it's a more common orange gold chassis with the V2 Associated shocks which didn't look bad when I held them up to this car.

Or as the ole lady calls it, the car studio, LOL!
I've been using the drum sander on the dremel around the edges, and a thin diamond bit to get into the tight spots. The motor plate I cut with the wheel, then used the drum sander to get it right.
