Push through the pain Reg.... I know easier said than done. I have to when I am in the gym, as LH side muscles still aren't working 100%. Biggest thing for me is going to be pushing through the fear when back on the bike.

My biggest concern as I have attempted that on a small scale (25mi) road ride, that set my lower back in pain 200% greater than it was before the ride, and it lasted for 5 days. As a self employed person that only has income based on his actions, I scared more than I can tell you of pushing too hard and not being able to run the business, sinking it-

Was that on a road bike, Reg? I just started cycling last summer, it feels soooo good after every ride and I can't wait for spring.

The first ride will almost always cause pain. I had swollen thighs in my first month riding. The other thing with road bikes is that, if you're not fitted to the bike properly, there will be some undesirable effects - with back pains being the most common.

Yeah it was on road, I used to cycle both mountain/trail and road. My Bianchi fits me just fine and I learned to stand up every few miles quite a few (12) years ago.
