QRC Wild Dodge Ram and Field Baja Beetle
Hey guys what is the collectability of these two kits? I remember my brother having the Dodge Ram and from what I remember it was a terrible kit but I tried doing some E-bay searches to get some idea of what they go for but I'm coming up with no results.
The reason I ask is I went to the local hobby store to get some stuff to fix my nephews truck and I noticed they still have both of these kits new in box on the shelf. They have other old kits still sitting on the shelf but from memory I think these are the only ones that may actually be worth something.
Not sure if its worth the hassle to try and pick them up to flip them for a profit on E-bay or get them to stick in the closet and sit on them for a while. What are your thoughts?
Thanks for any help, Todd

What are they asking for them? I collect Volkswagen related R/C cars (well, really all kinds of VW stuff). I've got a mint, unused assembled Field Baja... but it's not NIB!

Well it looks like I didn't safeguard my interest before posting this this thread. Someone looked at my location before I removed and found the truck on their own. Pretty sure I know who it was.
Saw the ram sitting behind the counter and struck up a conversation about how old it was and he said yeah it's been here forever and someone just called and purchased it.
The beetle is still there but I think whoever it was was pretty shady to do that when I came on here seeking advice. took pictures of both I'll post when I get home.
Here's the pictures.

And the one that was "phoned in".......Hmmmmm wonder why it was phoned in

Weren't these the first ever nitro R/C's to have reverse? There was a Snake Bite version as well.
Anyway from what I've seen the Ram version is rarer but the Beetle looks a lot better/cooler. I don't know which one is the more desirable of the two. Either way depending on the price, You stand to make a sizable profit on it.

Sorry I thought I posted the price. They were both going for $279. Not sure if they were the first with reverse but they were the first that I remember. That was kind of the bad thing about it though. There was no brake. It was forward-coast in neutral-reverse. I remember my brothers and it being a pain to drive with the lack of brake.
In my opinion it is a little high and I'm not sure there is a market for it. Besides someone who had two and recently sold them and just wants another one for nostalgic reasons. I was hoping to have found a lost treasure but that was kind of wishful thinking. I cant find anything price wise about them which makes me think they aren't very collectable. Just one of those kits that no one wanted.

You could probably make a good profit but it would have to sit on eBay for a while. It wouldn't be as quick of a sale as say a NIB RC10 for example. Theres a Field Baja on eBay right now but the seller wants two grand for it.
Needless to say it keeps getting re-listed.

I'd love to have a NIB Field Baja in my collection, but for that price and trying to get it shipped to me, it's just a bit too much.
