Slocarrod's RC12's
I have been sick as a dog the last few days and had some home time away from work while trying to get better! So I dug out the 3 RC12L's that I had got for free a few years ago, and now want to restore two queens and a runner! The two queens will be a Graphite version and a Fiberglass version!
This is what I had to start with!
All the chassis have the front end rounded, but I was lucky, there was a spare woven graphite chassis in the parts that I received with the cars!
That lower bracket is not the right one and I did not use it as the original was perfect anyway!
Some progress with the front and rear ends!
Added a Trinity 87 Monster Horse Power and some NIP 32 pitch gears! New screws and nuts everywhere! You ever find your self matching your nuts? I do! There are different batches of nuts you know!
I know it's not box art but I thought the wing nut looked cool and served a purpose!
This is the car mostly finished with Sanyo SCR1200 4 cell pack that still works well! A Tekin Pro Tempfet ESC, a Futaba 75mhz AM RX and a S132H servo! TRC yellow dot rears and narrow green dot front tires. The RX wire wraps around the fiber rod, but the stock rod is much too long to fit on my shelf so I bundled the RX wire!
I had this sweet F1 body kicking around so I mounted it and then put it on the car! JKing!

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
So, I did a little work on the Fiberglass one today. This is what I have to start with!
Not that great! The chassis is cut and rounded on the front like the Graphite 12L I just did! Thank goodness a member is sending me a new chassis all the way from France! I often wonder how many of our cars a pieced together with parts from all over the world? This is an interesting spur that was on it! 64 pitch thin steel with rubber diff seals! I may put this on the runner!

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
I would love to do full box art on this fiberglass car so I am putting in a few item requests in the Buy Sell Section!
Lucky I had the original motor mount in the spare parts!

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
Finished up the rear pod and put a Reedy green dot in! I would love to know what the Red labeled Reedy motor was?

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
Looking good Rod. I will keep watching to see what else you come up with.
I have an old Losi 10th scale pan car that needs to be rebuilt. Thanks for the inspiration.
It may be a heck of a long time before I do it, but thanks none the less. haha!
