RC10 tire treatment

Post by Wild27 »

Hello,

I have a few vintage rc 10's and the tires are starting to get a little old looking does any one know of a good tire treatment that would help this? I have searched this site and there have been some topics on tire treatments but the question was never really answered. Thanks.

Every one has there own opinions, take the one that best suits you :) Read through the posts brought up in the search, there seems to be some definition between preservation and restoration.

I use Wurth Rubber care to restore and Autoglym 'Vinyl and rubber' care for preserving, but there are cheaper alternatives that are just as effective, and no guarantees if either of the ones I use will degrade the tyres a few years down the road.

The wurth seems to 'cut' the tire, the Autoglym seals it.

I had a similar question and here's the answer I got. It was a quiet night so things got a little weird (I blame Reggie  ), but some good info nonetheless.

It's funny this came up too because I was getting a few outdoor Christmas decorations out of the basement Friday and as I looked over to evaluate the cars down there I literally cringed and thought: I hope all those tires aren't going to hell just sitting down here. :(

Well, I asked the question, but never followed thru so I can't personally say. Just logged the information for when I get my act together and treat my equipment the way it should be treated. :|
