Anyone here have an RC18 B / T / MT / R?

Post by RC104ever »

I just got mine from mrhemi - and I am having a hoot with the little guy. Bought a cheap ESC (Toro) and brushless setup from Hobbypartz as well as a new Gensace Lipo. Broke my first part - the front shock tower. Was thinking of buying the factory team aluminum parts which is about $174.

What are you guys running? I have some other tires and stuff coming already like the 18R black spoked wheels, thinking of getting a different body for it too. I also ordered up a Castle Micro Pro and motor for it.

Our local club has a class for 18r's. If your running brushless i highly reccomend getting a set of steel gears for the gearboxes. I was getting less than a pack with the stock plastic ones. I've also got a 18t running a ez-run 7800kv. Thing absolutly rips on 3s lipo.........

Can you point me to the steel gears you mentioned? Can I get them at Tower for example? Or is it a Factory Team piece?

Aluminum steering setup is a must IMO. Alot of flex even in stock factory setup. Lipo and brushless speed you'll definitely want it to go where you point it.

Here is my RC18B, 99% completed. I have a bunch of different wheels and tires to still try as well as the 18R bits but this is pretty much how it will be:
