I thought you guys would appreciate this GT Pro World Tour. My brother powdercoated the frame, forks, bars, seatpost, pedals, sprocket, brake levers & arms, stem and misc. hardware. The owner finally got it put together and sent us some pics.

the other week, i came across a stack of my old bmx plus mags up at my parents house. not a bunch, but nothing newer than dec. '89.

and i know this is a "bike" thread, but i don't really have any of my old ones. so, i dug my old skateboard out from on top of my parent's garage. i think i got all of the parts and assembled it in '90. i didn't get to use it all that much since we moved out of town shortly thereafter, and didn't really have a place to use it at the new house. so, it's still in pretty good shape.

After a LOT of searching around and a pretty penny I finaly have my dream bike.
This Kuwi has cost me an arm and a leg but I think the final outcome was worth it.
The frame, forks, bars, seat pole and stem cap were all media blasted then powdered by a great guy here in Brisbane who knows his stuff. Genuine facory decals were acquired, a sweet set of Peregrine 48h Super Pro's and a tone of cool new parts went into this build.
This bike is a real pleasure to ride and it will be going out on its maiden voyage this Saturday on an organised vintage BMX ride through area's of Sydney taking in iconic land marks with 50 odd other like minded individuals.
Can't wait!

Thanks and yes I agree. The 'Paths' are there for when i want to ride it. Besides I still need to get educated on what old skool skin walls i should be looking out for.

you all have some great rides, I have been collecting parts to rebuild my old BMX for years. I scored a set of the plastic Mag wheels I had, but still no luck on a frame. mine was just a cheap Murray/ Schwinn knock off, but I really loved it and spent many hours working on it and riding it. mine looked like this one but had a chrome not blue frame and bars, and No chain guard it had the chain guard made into the sprocket. but did have those bright Yellow Mag's I hated them as a kid but love them now I found a nice set on Ebay last year.

Well I finaly got a chance to ride the Kuwi through some great iconic areas of Sydney with around 50 odd other vintage BMX enthusiasts.
It was a brilliant day for it with top weather, plenty of great bikes and folks that love and ride them.
Started out in the morning at the 'Pump House Bar' in Darling Harbour, rode up into the city of Sydney through to Kings Cross and up Oxford Street and back down agai through the Cross. Wound up down at 'Harrys Cafe DeWheels' then off to the Opera House and onto to Circular Quay and back to Darling Harbour where we finished off the day with beers at the Pump House.
It was a great ride. So many characters and so many bikes.
Can't wait for the next one!

Well, Just now kinda read through this thread, WOW alot of sweet bikes! Funny how alot of us have the same likes.

Anyhow.....Just recently picked up this old school 1981 Schwinn Predator, all original, complete with the Skyway Tuff II's, (coaster style), original Schwinn "BMX" seat. It's missing the chain guard, you know that was always one of the first things takin off

Missing the grips and I have the front reflector, rear is gone. (other items that were usally removed)

She's in pretty darn good shape being its a 30-31 year old bike. Schwinn was not really my choice BITD, I loved my Team Mongoose and Supergoose and hope to find a nice one or do a resto some day.

All I've done is a quick wipedown with some windex to this...Not sure what my plans are for it, may just sell it?

For now it is sitting in the basement.

My friend who I road with back in the day now brings his Son to a BMX track to race. He said they have a class for 38( I think that is the age) and older. I still have my RedLine 700SL hanging in the rafters, and for a second I thought it would be a blast to dust it off, but then I remembered how out of shape I am, and how easy it is to get hurt now.

I will stick with R/C, and enjoy looking at vintage BMX.
