Vintage RC10 CE / Masami tribute :)
Vintage RC10 CE / Masami tribute :)
Hey all, here are some progress pics of a Masami tribute build. It started as a gold pan, now with an Andys truck chassis, was on Ebay for sale as a roller for a little bit, didnt sell so I'll just keep tinkering
For the quick responders (yea you), I'm not doing a replica of a Masami build or body, its a tribute, like a theme build. I really like his 91' Detroit Worlds build, so thats the basis of what I'm working from. I still have alot of work to do on the body design. I came to the conclusion recently that I just dont have the patience to do replicas. I can barely wait for paint to dry before I remove window masks, so theres no way I can exactly duplicate anything like that.
I want to build it as a street racer, looking for some old school foam tires if anyone has the proper size for it. Also looking for a black motor plate, and would trade the gold one I have for one in similar condition. If anyone can name the front end tie-rods for me, cause I'm looking for a few of the same to finish the rear.
It should be ready to run with Hyperdrive, and a custom motor in a week or so when I get some free time. Almost forgot to mention the Losi shocks, old school Tekin, 7cell 5000mah Nimh, current era AE 2.4 radio, and lexan window nets. Enjoy!

Looks very nice. What did you dye the wheels with? pretty decent color out of them.

Looks good
Losi shocks on Masami Tribute car are shocking though
If you start selling these rainbow vinyles, I guarantee you'll be a rich man soon

Man that looks nice, Losi shocks or not, who cares? LOOK at that sexy body! If you could make that with all the correct decals included I would buy a set for sure!

thanks guys. im working on the rest of the set, not that easy but i have some decent pics to work from. the wheels were dyed with RIT clothing dye, Fuschia is the color name, and it looks nothing like the pics here. if you google image magenta or fushia, you can get an idea of the true color.

Very nice tribute, always love Masami's colors. Not really a fan of the vinyl cuts, feels like something out of a RTR kit. Paint is more classy
