I'm still in! I'm posted to a new location so I was not working on the buggy for a bit but should be back in fabrication mode within a week.

I've built about 2.5 cars but am not happy with 1.5 of them and the other one was almost finished even before the race started so it does not meet the spirit so well. Wanna give it another try though.

Just noticed that the date was extended until Oct 31. For some reason I thought it ended Oct 1 now. So happy, I got the time. Just got some things back.....

Yep...even extended, I doubt my entry will be complete by then. :? I haven't even begun building anything yet! I've checked out everyone's threads, some great stuff goin' on!

Guys, where are you all at with your projects? It looks like only Mr. ED has his car completed thus far. It's already Oct. 6 and I haven't even received my anodized parts yet! :? I doubt I'll even be able to complete a rolling chassis in time for the Oct. 31 deadline.

Maybe if most of you are similarly unlikely to finish your projects by the deadline, we could extend it another month. If most of you are nearly finished, we can leave the deadline as it is and I'll bow out of the competition. I don't want to enter a nice-looking pile 'o' parts for my entry!

How about everyone replying to rate your project progress out of 5. I'm a 0 out of 5.

I would say I am about a 2/5. I have a boatload of stuff arriving next week that should help move things along. I would be fine extending another month...in fact I encourage it. I think the final products will be much better if everyone has the time they need to finish.

True, but it might not seem fair to the guy(s) who have their cars finished or almost finished...of course, they could choose to refine their entries. But if most people are at 4/5 or finished, I don't mind stepping out, either. I want this Build-Off to produce some excellent, quality cars before the final vote. 8)

I definitely could use another month. I'm about half done, but have some relatively easy (but time consuming) fab and machining to do.

Take whatever time you want, but show us some updates 'cause now it's a bit boring: having to sit and wait till everyone's done

No kidding, I know what you mean. I haven't been able to post any worthwhile updates as all I've been able to do is wait. But guess what, I finally got my anodized parts today! So expect some drool-worthy sneak-peeks later this afternoon--the colors are amazing! But I'm also still waiting for a set of RCScrewz, it should've arrived already...

Other than a small pile of purchased parts, almost everything I have so far is virtual: 3d models and 2d drawings. The cutting of fiberglass and machining of aluminum and steel starts next week. I may post some teaser pics of that, but not much as I don't want to ruin the surprise. :D

Okay, finally a sneak-peek...got the anodized parts back! Hopefully the RCScrewz set will arrive early next week and the build can begin.

oh come on, please share; maybe we can make suggestions or help out otherwise
It's fun to see the growing process too, even more so as you got CAD stuff involved
