LX-T Refresh: A New Life

I've finally finished (well, almost) the LX-T that I used to race as a kid at local carpet ovals. This is probably one of my favorite builds since I've had this old girl for so many years.

Here's the parts I started with that have been on the truck for many years:
- Composite Craft TLTO graphite chassis
- Factoy Works front and rear oval shock towers & front and rear True-Spin axle kits
- A&L ball bearing steering
- Lunsford titanium hinge pins, Punisher turnbuckles, motor screws & quick-tune shock mounts
- Tecnacraft aluminum screw kit
- Thorp 64-pitch tranny gears
- RPM front arms, front bulkhead, 5-degree anti-squat bar, shock cups & pivots
- MIP CVDs
- Dynotech slipper eliminator
- Dan's LTO battery belt
- Fantom pink 36-degree (I think) motor with Trinity brush heatsinks
- Litesink motor plate
- Trinity purple motor spacer heatsink


And here's the new parts I've added:
- Losi .36 Street Weapon shocks front and rear...red springs are temporary
- Losi rear arms, front bumper & front body mount
- RPM rod ends & delrin pivot balls
- MIP Lite Drives
- A&L 3.2" mounted foams...thanks Daryl!

My brother ordered some fluorescent yellow powder that arrived today, and I decided to coat my Litesink. It was powdercoated flat black in the previous pics, so no harm was done to the original azodizing that I stripped off many years ago.








Send me a PM if you're interested in having a Losi motor plate powdered in this color to mimic the optional Losi piece.

I decided to clean up a few old bodies I've had since I raced as a kid.

The first is a JRX-T body that I bought from a fellow racer who only had one arm and was an amazing driver...it still has $10 written in marker on the inside. I had to offset it to fit the LTO chassis:









And second is my old Andy's Lo-Profile LX-T body that I just stripped with brake fluid this week. It was fluorescent pink, yellow and white, and has had a rough life. But it's still one of my favorite truck bodies.

Thanks! It was a slow process and took about 2 weeks total. I just soaked a rag in DOT 3 fluid and put it inside a plastic bag. I did the front first, then the sides and roof, then the rear. I started with some old DOT 4 fluid I found in a parts car, but it didn't seem to work any faster. I ended up using my fingernails and a plastic scraper to get in the cracks.

The JRX-T body still has a nice paintjob, considering it's at least 15 years old. I fixed some extra holes, then masked off the bed area and sprayed it with some SEM trim paint. And I touched up the cracks with white Krylon. I actually ran this body when I first bought it, but my truck handled terribly without the side dam. So back to the trusty Roadkill I went.
