Traxxas Part# 2628-x

Post by 3trxvintage »

Back in the day traxxas made a graphite kit for the TCP. I was able to find part number 2628-x. But unfortunately the holes do not line up. The part looks pretty cool but it does not fit. :(

So traxxas vintage guys…Has anyone ever seen this part or had any luck getting it to fit?

Anyone ever seen the lower chassis or shock towers before? I have seen the traxxas graphite kit on an SRT, but never on the TCP.

Maybe you need the lower chassis 2629-x to make it work, not sure.

THIS WAS TAKEN FROM THE TCP PARTS LIST. I HAVE A FEELING THE GRAPHITE KIT AND LOWER CHASSIS ARE VERY RARE.

AS YOU CAN TELL THE HOLES HAVE BEEN DRILLED TO FAR BACK.

my guess is that you need both parts to complete the kit, so you only have half of what you need.

Maybe the graphite chassis has a longer wheelbase?

I think you guys are 100% correct about the lower chassis being a bit longer. Guess i will never know unless i find traxxas #2629-x lower chassis. I do know that part is very very rare. I have never seen one before.

If anyone has one or knows someone who has one PM me. thanks

you could always trace out the lower chassis, front end, use the top plate as a guide to locate the mid holes, then trace out the rear holes based on the stretched top brace hole locations, make your own outer shape and cut it out of whatever, g10, carbon fiber, texalium, you name it.

the beauty is that the chassis is flat stock without any kickup.

Ya i could do that, thanks for the tip. I might order some of the fibre-lyte graphite parts from the UK. A member on this forum has them by the name of cobra ken. The parts look to be of the highest quality and give the car a very awesome look!!!

Every topic I've read where people have Fiber-Lyte products love them. They are high quality, but expensive. I'd love to get some parts!
