tire lathe ?
Looking to get a tire lathe with arbors for the RC10L front an rear . Tower lists a team cobra lathe but no arbors so thats off the list. Any other options? I am also thinking of setting up a jig on the drill press and go that route.

Re: tire lathe ?
The only trouble with the homemade lathe is that you need to get at least 15k rpm to get a clean cut. Maxmod made arbors for their truer which are the same style as the cobra, although I have some maxmod 10l arbors and I could true some tires for you too-
Check lefthanderRC or RC4Less for the arbors if you want your own setup-

Re: tire lathe ?
I had an Integy and sold it. I didn't like it at all. It's fine for doing tires with low rubber content but any new style foam tires with higher rubber contents the motor lugged and labored with each cut. You wind up having to do a bunch of light, small cuts to get a tire to the proper size.
The ONLY two lathes that are worth spending money on (and I have owned both) are MaxMod and Hudy. The MaxMods (110v DC) are hard to find and use only MaxMod arbors, but do show up used from about $100 to a beat up one to about $200 for a clean one with a lot of arbors. Hudy lathes can be 12v AC or 110v DC (or both), and use much more mainstream lathe arbors. They can be REALLY expensive, but are awesome truers, and they hold their value VERY well should you want to sell it someday. I've actually been looking for one recently. Hudy also has automatic and manual versions, as well. The Hudy is the only lathe I have ever used that was able to take huge amounts of foam off of rubber-based 1/8th scale on road tires in one shot.
Pass on the Integy unless you can get one used and cheap with a lot of arbors. Or, unless you are using it only on 20 year old green or blue foam tires. I didn't like using mine because I never felt that my time spent truing tires was well spent. The motor always was lugging, and I wasted a lot of time making many passes over one tire at a time.

Re: tire lathe ?
You should see what the large Maxmod will do to a purple 3" doughnut with the carbide cutter. Looks better than a burn out contest when you take over a half an inch
