Re: Schumacher Cat SWB Build Tread
These will be ready to ship out on Sat, assuming I don't have any issues at work (I am going to leave on time any way). Shoot me a PM if you are interested.mrlexan wrote:I think there is enough interest for another run. I have a busy week next week, so it might be 3 wks before I have them ready for shipment.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Re: Schumacher Cat SWB Build Tread
Yay at last I ve got a spare 10 minutes to post some updates to my SWB CAT. When I first start to project I was going to make this a runner however after finding and sourcing some more NIP parts I decided to take it apart and start again and make it a shelf queen instead
Picture 1: New found NIP parts including pulleys and correct diff.

Picture 2,3,4,5: Started to make the original diff and front pulley. You really can see why loads of people got rid of the standard diff....far too many parts for my liking.

Picture 6: Gearboxes back in the car. also added correct springs to the shocks and rear wing mounts.

Picture 7: Put most of the car back together again but added some more NIP parts including both anti roll bars and some smaller parts like shock stepped washers.

Picture 8: Jays amazing body fitted and 3 wheels as I STILL need one
The wheels were old ones rubbed down and sprayed semi gloss black. I do have a NIP set of chrome ones but wanted to keep the ones on this black.

Last couple of pictures are just front and rear detail ones of the chassis. Thoughts and comments welcome?

Re: Schumacher Cat SWB Build Tread
Im going to be really honest and will have to say Im finding it hard to get into the SWB Cat. Silly thing to say seeing as I have been puting one together of late (as every schuey nut really must have one of these cars I reckon).
I seriously am mad about the fact of owning one but they just dont look as cool as the XLS or even the XL in my (silly) opinion. I dont mean to offend anybody but the stubby front end almost makes the car look cartoonish (and Im sure thats half the appeal here).
Still, I want one and hope to have something to share with you gents in the near future.
Great example by the way Jimbo.

Thanks for the comments guys, I sort of agree with you Jason. The SWB Cat looks a bit odd compared to the XLS. Looks like it will roll over into the first corner if I was gonna race it!
