brushed ESC... cap necessary?

Post by tim.sanderson »

I'm going to install one of these ESCs into my M05. If possible, I'd like to remove the capacitor. (to save space, and look a little more tidy) I'm not 100% sure the GTX works, but the GT7 will once I've fixed the broken wires.

My question is, how necessary is the capacitor when only running a silver can motor, with a 2400mah lipo? Would there be any performance issues?

Novak just state the capacitor should be used to maintain cool and smooth operation, I ran these ESC's back in the day but only in Modified class with 10-13T motors so I always ran with the cap.
