MMV Challenger: Top Secret Optima
This is going to be a hard build thread to complete because I want to reveal as little as possible until the end. I will say it's based on a Turbo Optima and will be loaded with custom fabricated parts.
I have a lot of 3D modeling work to do before any machining begins .

Oh, this sounds nice. We should take a pic of all our Turbo Optimas together.

Re: MMV Challenger: Top Secret Optima
I love Optimas (Javelins) too; this will be my 3rd complete one, although I have enough parts to build a few more. Don't tell scr8p, but I might like them just a tad more than RC10s . A Turbo Optima was my first "racing quality" RC car in 1987. I didn't get an RC10 until 1988.
Another couple of bits on this project: it will remain chain drive, but the entire aluminum chassis is going away.

Possibly, although due to budgetary considerations, there's more likely to be a LOT of fiberglass in my future .losiXXXman wrote:This is gonna be GOOD. Do I see a LOT of CF in your future....?

I concede! This will be way cool.
On second thought maybe I will wait till you're finished.

Yeah, you should wait. The pictures in my head don't always translate well into reality .8rad wrote:I concede! This will be way cool.
