Re: Masami WCS 93 replica ( 15 month update ) LOL
Derby Dan is killing me on the progress of his car
So I spent some time today making it a truer
replica than it was- a few guys might notice the differences, most wont
Look hard!
I will say that I have decided ( with the huge help of Aaron ) to make this car a fine pitch car as he ran at Basildon, and I will have all the correct parts for that soon- Thanks for getting me off my butt Dan!!

Re: Masami WCS 93 replica ( 15 month update ) LOL
Ha ha - thats looking great Reg!!
Is that now built up around the Fibrelyte Chassis? Also I assume the top-deck is still the 94' YZ-10 part? I see that you have trimmed down your wing too.... I think they look much better like this than with the huge side dams!
Its funny as I have also fitted a 'Mr' series motor - complete with white label with Masami written on it, into my car. I also thought that I had the correct Novak 410 speedo - but alas, when I dug it out it turned out to be the older 'MC' rather than the correct HPC version
Reggie - your car is a far more accurate 'replica' of Masami's own car.... mines more of a 'tribute' as opposed to a replica.... & its a real credit to you
Edited to add;
What are the rear springs from - I assume they are AE greens - but I tried on the springs off my Worlds RC10 but they were too small (diameter-wise) to sit over the Yokomo spring cups?? Are later springs a slightly larger dia?

Re: Masami WCS 93 replica ( 15 month update ) LOL
Brand new top deck (hand made) the springs are AE greens, just need to turn them counter clockwise on the lower cups for them to seat in the yokomo cups. It is the chassis you made me, hence the no front belt!! I need to get my act together on the rest of the 2mm parts, the front belt and the 22t center (non hardened) center pulley. The wing was hard to trim for what it cost me, but it looks better!!
I still need to machine the front arms, but I need a better image of the fronts- the rears are easy, bug I only have a feeling what the front is like. I got excited this week when I thought I found some of the correct KO decals, but the ones I got are wrong-
Oh, I might just have another HPC to trade you for the MC-

Re: Masami WCS 93 replica ( 15 month update ) LOL
Thanks for the tip on the shock springs... thought there might have been a more technical solution!
Max kudos for making that top-deck by hand... that must have taken some cutting/fileing!? P.S did you manage to use my drawing... I ask, as it looks slightly different around the rear above the bulkhead?
Yes, it was a tense time cutting my wing too... I used my trusty scalpal & finished off the edges with a sand-paper block so looks pretty neat I think.
Shame about the KO decals - i'm looking for those aswell (amongst many others) I might try & contact a guy who my friend works for - he was the sales rep for KO UK back in the 90s, so he might be able help?
P.S; That HPC speedo sounds good - i'll send you a PM

Another update!
I managed to scratch, claw, beg borrow and almost steal some more parts from Aaron and Al
I can't even tell you how rare 2 of these are and only because Al and Aaron are so gracious that I have them
Fine pitch TCS- WCS specific fine pitch pulley-( left ) WCS specific diff halves ( left )

hehe, no need to beg or steal to anyone. Just ask in the wanted since someone may have some of those `rare` parts

NICE! Top work on finding those parts/RC10talk members willing to give generously to the WCS cause

P.S; I spy some blue ESC heat sinks

Re: Masami WCS 93 replica ( 15 month update ) LOL
One more small part done to make it more accurate- machining of the rear arms ( I have been dreading this in case of incorrect placement ) I have no clear shots of the front underside of the car so I only have a good guess on those arms- so I will keep in a holding pattern for now-
More to come-
