Thankslowrydesign wrote:sweet build!! where did you get the motor plate?

The motor plate came with the lot I bought, so no idea of its origin. It may be the kinwald - not sure?
Cheers for the heads up, bearricksterbearrickster wrote:Both of the parts you missing are on the Bay nice build

This truck is nice! Good tidy example, love the Kinwald motor plate, nice touch!
The graphite parts look so much better than the standard plastic parts. Get that shell painted now, I would offer to do one, but it's just finding time around work and family duties.
You can still by the shells new over here, let me know if you need one

Re: Fakiee's XXT CR G+ (nearly complete!)
Thats interesting, I had a blue annodised/machined motor plate on my old XX buggy bitd..... I had assumed that the model shop where I brought it had got the standard silver ones coloured (there was a red one too) but maybe it was a standard Losi part? Either way, they went well with the blue Trinity partsbearrickster wrote: thants not a Kinwald plate, its milled. the Kinwald plates were the stock plate anadised blue

Re: Fakiee's XXT CR G+ (nearly complete!)
I know the Kinwald plates were the stock unmilled plates. I have a brand new one of thoses also. but I had mine done in Trinity Blue to match all of mt Trinity parts. and Valkyrie had a bunch of the milled plates done and sells them on EBay. I will get the pics in a few mins.
I hope you can see in the pictures that the Kinwald parts are much darker than the trinity blue ones. here are pictures of my all original XX KB and my used BK motor plate and the milled plate I had done to match my Trinity blue parts build.

Re: Fakiee's XXT CR G+ (nearly complete!)
Mmm loving that 'Trinity Blue'
The motorplate on my old XX was a darker blue - like the Kinwald one (& the one on fakie's XXT) I remember it came out of a Losi headed packet but IIRC it had a 2nd set of staple marks on the header like somone had taken them out for anodising & then replaced them into the bag after anodising. This was around the late 90s & we were eager for any upgrades to add 'bling' to our XXs
I wonder if Rich T would be able to confirm/deny that these were supplied coloured from Losi.... perhaps it was a batch Helger (now Horizon UK) did for UK customers?

Re: Fakiee's XXT CR G+ (nearly complete!)
I dont think Losi did, I cannot recall Losi doing them, I would of had one if so! They must of been done as an aftermarket process I reckon, would be nice to know for sure though.

I have seen a few xx's with Red motor plates, but I have never seen one of those nip either.
