Capacitors & Diodes (on the el cheap-o)

Post by RichieRich »

Has anyone been able to find cheap ESC caps and schottky diodes? There must be a place where you can buy bulk like a McMaster-Carr but for electronics. I've been able to find the 680uf 16V power caps that are used Novak ESCs from partsexpress. Also, I found the exact match power cap at an electronics store in Burbank, CA. I'd like to find some schottky diodes too but haven't had any luck.

digikey

mouser

jameco

any of those are electronic wholesalers. look for .1uf caps through-hole radial metal film cap.

probably 1n5817 would be a suitable schottky, axial through hole

For passives like caps and diodes, Futurelec.com has the best prices for most stuff.
You do have to wait a while on shipping though...

Digikey has never failed me, they're #1 in my book.

Mouser and Newark are second and tied.

Allelectronics.com might have the stuff you need as well, but they are surplus for a lot of it, so don't expect it to always be there.

Never ordered from jameco, but heard they're good.
