Futaba Manum Jr inherit newer ESC?

I got a n oldFutaba Magnum Jr. Radio I picked up with my RC10 "A" #6010.

If I upgrade my Traxxas Stampede, can I pass the Traxxas XL-5 ESC to the RC10 and still use the Futaba radio? The Futaba radio/servo is in good shape

I had wanted to pickup a used VXL brushess ESC/motor or similar combo for the Stampede. the AM Traxxas radio from the Stampede is in good shape too.

I do have a 2.4 GHZ radio for the XXXT. I haven't done more than power the radio up since I got that combo.

yes, that mag jr will work just fine.

Todd- if I knew what I had, I would certainly be much better off. The best I can find is a marking on the motor that says ROAR 91.
should be a 27t stock motor.

A friend dropped this vintage speed control at my doorstep tonight! It’s NIB early Futaba FP-MC5 that he got in huge deal with a guy that was sponsored by Futaba. The thing was that he was only in to 1:8 off-road racing with gas cars. :mrgreen:

Hi to you all.

I have recently acquired a very nice original Kyosho Turbo Optima. It has a period Futaba MC-112B. Speed controller fitted.

It appears to work fine in forward and neutral but the brake/reverse less so. As per the manuals i can see...

I am trying to restore my old RC10 #6011 from the early 90s. My servo control works fine. When I power on the car, the wheels give a small jolt, so I think the motor is ok. When I try to throttle, the Futaba ESC makes a buzzing sound and the motor...
