Newbie, old car.....Graphite..Schumacher...not 4x4 MMS......
Hi all,
After years of nothing I was flicking around Ebay last night and saw and old RC10 Graphite, then thought I wonder how my old car is doing.
So dug into the garage, bottom of the old toolbox and hey ho, one dusty, rusty rubber rotten car!!!!
Thing is this car was a 1 off as far as I knew, over the years it got stripped to nothing, local club only checked weight etc on BRCA nights!!! Bonus.
Anyhow last time I used it, I got 3rd in the A final, chuffed to bits.
The lad I got it of told me it was an RPM conversion, however looking on here I think it may have something to do with the MMS french thing, but 2wd...
It's pretty much butchered but if I can get the pics uploaded, you'll see the Schumacher gearbox, drive shafts, shocks and big nylon rear hubs!!
Any info, let me know, I've now got the bug to get it back running again, shame there's no 1/10th where I live at the moment.....Gutted!!!!!
IF ANYONES HAS INFO ON THIS CAR EMAIL ME:
[email protected]
Cheers.

Re: Newbie, old car.....Graphite..Schumacher...not 4x4 MMS..
Hey welcome CON....
That 'RCmacher10' looks like a right hotch-potch of parts.... I even spot Mardave Meteor bellcranks!.... & that super-slim chassis is mad!
But its all cool though, sounds like you was quite successfull with it!
I can understand why it would seem a good idea to swap out the 6gear tranny & the AE shocks.... but I wouldn't have thought the Schumacher items were that much of an improvement - especially the shocks
I remember back in the day Top Models released a car called the 'Hybrid' - it was exactly that - a hybrid of all the best parts from all the different cars, IIRC it had Traxxas shocks, Stealth gearbox, HPI 5 star wheels & a white 'RPM' style moulded chassis - I've never to this day ever seen one (other than in old magazines)..... this car kind of reminds me of that

Hi,
It did have ballraced steering, but I nicked it for another car at the time....
I'm the same the schu belt drives not what I call smooth, neither is the diff.
As for the shocks, they used to work.
Maybe as it was early in the UK, parts were hard to find.......
Currently searching ebay for new parts........Tempted to go back to RC10 gearbox, but not sure yet may keep it more origional with Schu bits.....
Thoughts anybody????

Re: Newbie, old car.....Graphite..Schumacher...not 4x4 MMS..
Well after alot of work (not rc) I've got a bit of time spare.
Moving soon and found a local 1/10th track so thought I might start up again!
Got a B2 of Fleaby, weights a ton compared to the Grpahite MMS thing!
Might get rid and re-build the Graphite, give that a go racing.
Problem is, sod all parts here in the uk..........Mind you more for the classic than the B2 floating around!
Anyhow, watching a Couger for new gearbox/drive shafts, if I don't win that I might strip the B2 and use the gearbox and shocks of that, seems cheaper to strip the B2 than buy the bits i need!
Fingers crossed I'll make my mind up and post some pics!
In the meantime if anyone has any info on this car, please let me know.
I've seen on the forum the MMS 4wd car but that's it, I can't for one min think there's only 1 4wd and 1 2wd!!
Later peeps!!

Re: Newbie, old car.....Graphite..Schumacher...not 4x4 MMS..
hehe cool car!
Have you tried caps lock?
As far as the car goes, RPM conversion? NO! The tranny looks like an MMS CAT 4wd tranny flipped around and the belt to the front wheels removed. The 2 narrow belts and the custom side plates sort of give it away. I believe there was a 2wd version but it would have used a single double wide belt.
Do you have more pics? Specifically of the bottom chassis and gearbox.

I'll get some more pics up over the weekend.
Just found out that all the B2 bits fit the classic RC10.
I see a RC10B1.5 coming next, tech section here we come!
