For most specific products, we could tie in scans from RCCA and other publications showing the products original marketing as well. The marketing was half the excitement. My old professor called it the "green gas tank" idea. If John Doe won the race on Sunday with a green gas tank, everyone next Sunday had a green gas tank too. The problem is that while everyone else now has the green gas tank, John Does tank is now blue. And John won again. No one ever figures out that maybe John is just a great driver with a great crew.

Weekends are busy these days (self imposed choice), so I didn't get around to it..... but I will.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

I think this is a great idea, and it would be great to extend it beyond the RC10. Presumably, if a template of categories is drawn up it could be posted in the relevant sections of this forum (i.e. RC10 Forum, Non-RC10 Vintage:Kyosho, Non-RC10 Vintage: Schumacher, etc) with a new thread for each car?

There will always be a bit of overlap between the categories, but on the whole it would definitely work. We could all post up our contributions and once a good number had been posted perhaps a mod/volunteer could then quickly try and sort them into a little more order? Just trying to make suggestions....

Jay,

Great idea and a valuable reference for the site. I had thought about this before to try and capture all of the options for a vintage hop-up/aftermarket in one location (by catagory). Maybe a separate vintage hop-up section and a post for each sub-category.

1. Transmissions
2. Suspension
3. Chassis
4. Shocks
5. Bodies
6. Wings
7. Tires
8. Wheels
9. Complete Conversion options (i.e. Sprints)
10. Misc.

I agree with this being a good thing. If it does make it to other sections of the site I'm sure Scr8p would also be happy to help out there :P .

What if you seperated it by year and not manufacturer also maybe you could sellect a new MOD to over see this venture due to the amount of extra work and time this would take just a suggestion
