All new applicants should own (regardless of it's state) at least one pre B2 RC10 to qualify for forum registration.

Re: Discuss.
It would ensure the forum stays 'pure' I guess. I joined because I'd bought an RC10, so I guess this kind of rule would ensure people have a genuine/real interest in joining the forum. I am a believer that specific forums such as this provide value/support/guidance/help/fun for the people who partake in the subject 'for the right reasons'. A lot of forums end up becoming 'confused' in regards to what they are hoping to achieve.
It wouldn't stop people from reading the forum or gaining knowledge from the content of the forum, but it would ensure that the people who 'post' are doing so with the appropriate motivations.
It's gets my vote.

Do, or do not! There is no 'try'!

I just have a thought that if they are an owner of an original RC10 and have made the effort to find us chances are they might want to stick around and therefor follow the rules so cutting down on this sort of cackapoop

Re: Discuss.
I was gonna say we'd have to ban Halgar too. Maybe it's not a bad idea.
Seriously though, I think it's not a good idea. It really doesn't make much sense. There are plenty of crazy people in the world who own RC10s too. I really don't know what good a rule like that would do.
I thought the Ultima guy was kinda funny, even if he wasn't trying to be.

Re: Discuss.
I'm a new member and the main reason I joined up is because I have a 'vintage' RC10 so i kind of agree. However how would the new member prove it? I guess the new member would need to post a pic of their car with a piece of paper beside it showing their username on it.

Re: Discuss.
Maybe if the rules were stated in the sign up and required the person joining to agree or disagree to each rule atleast then there is no question that they have read the rules of the sight

Re: Discuss.
Maybe we should just get rid of all the rules and turn this place into Thunderdome!
Or maybe not.
I don't know, I like to keep the rules to a minimum. We pretty much just need to state the obvious for people who have trouble figuring out the basics. Any rules beyond that start to get annoying.

Thats what I was thinking, and the answer I came up with.Mindwarp wrote:I'm a new member and the main reason I joined up is because I have a 'vintage' RC10 so i kind of agree. Anyway, its a good idea in theory but this place is for everything vintage R/C now and not just RC10's like it was in the beginning. When a new member signs up and creates a topic against the rules simply post a link to them and lock the thread.

Re: Discuss.
Against... would make the forum narrow-minded, think a la worst of tamiyaclub... If you're an rc10 enthusiast, you should be a true vintage enthusiast, and if you truly like vintage rc, then the world goes way beyond rc10's
