tamtech buggy champ

Post by 59burst »

me and my boys are running this one for years. even the wife is 8)
I like it's body, ball diff, and slipper clutch. it's slow but not a prblem.
then I wanted to replace the shocks actually they are just the springs. but the replacement shock kit from tamiya is very expensive. it's more than $50 here. so I tried losi mini-t shocks today. they work great and look great too

had to limit the front shock stroke due to the trailing arms. everyting else is fine now.
but don't have any idea how to put the wing on it

Hi, not an expert on these but you may be able to attach the wing using a modified AE18B wing mount. Either that or make up some small brackets instead. Before everything was plastic many competition racers used alloy wing mounts and wing buttons, very simple but effective. Look at Masami's cars in the RC10 buggy forum and you will see what I mean. Not sure how practical with the smaller size though.

RC18B Part number

#21248
18B Wing Mount

Those Losi shocks look good, nice colour match as well.

Oople did a pretty good article on this buggy. I think they modded it a bit, too.
