Mmmm, Pizza...
Does anyone recall the short lived series: "Jesse James is a Dead Man"?
I've been bored with my GT for awhile, and never was thrilled with it's looks..
I've been wanting to do a scale Pizza Hut Baja Bug for quite sometime, but couldn't find the exact parts I was looking for.
I think what I've found so far may be fairly close enough..
My plan is to do a Pizza Hut Baja Bug inspired build.

I never watched the show but saw some video of him driving it on Youtube. Theres a number of bug bodies out there so hopefully you'll find one with the correct wheelbase.

I've got a Proline (short wheelbase Revo) Baja on order..I hope it gets here soon.
The standard length was too long for the stock wheelbase by about a 1/4" or so.
The standard 'Scorcher replacement was way too small.
The slightly larger scale body seemed a perfect match for the wheels & tires.

Re: Mmmm, Pizza...
if the proline SWB revo baja is the same as the slash 4x4 baja bug wheelbase then you might still be looking for a body. I put my slash bug baja body on one of my gt and it fits pretty long to the gt wheelbase. hopefully your revo body is gonna be shorter than the slash...

Re: Mmmm, Pizza...
Love the project because I have seriously love for the GT, but I did a fairly widespread search for a different body style for a GT one time and it's hard to fit all the way around. Good luck though and I'll keep my eyes peeled for options. Hope the one you got works out. Great project!

Re: Mmmm, Pizza...
So I go to my local hobby shop today to pick up the specific (by part #) body I ordered. (I'm told they have it in.)
The prior body I picked up was the wrong one.
I figured I'd rather give the LHS my money than taking advantage of Tower's $20 off a $50 order deal...last week...
I had other parts for other projects I could've ordered.
Today I was handed the exact same body I had returned prior..
Of the almost half a dozen different Proline Bug bodies made, the only one they didn't have was the one I had ordered...oh, well no big deal.
The guy behind the counter appoligized, & couldn't find my order that I had watched him write down a couple weeks ago. I told him it was no big deal, because I'm in no hurry, but it did kinda bum me out a bit.
I watched him write down the exact part# this time..err, again..hopefully I'll have it in a week.
So to make myself feel better I figured I'd use a body I already had for a "conceptual" photo op (it's been passed around more than a cheap hooker at a biker rally)
This body is approximately 3/4's the size of the one I'm expecting.
I've also got a line on a shiny NOS MIP exhaust (hopefully still in hiding)....stinger style..

Re: Mmmm, Pizza...
I agree that looks pretty nice. By the time the fenders are removed it will be real close.
By the way, I really like this. I may just let you do all the homework and then just copy it with different paint.

Re: Mmmm, Pizza...
Awesome.
Body arrived today.
Did (very) rough cut for mock up.
NOTE: Body is absolutely the thickest I've ever seen...nearly wore out the lexan scissors on this one...had to break out Mr. Dremel for help.
Body will be a perfect fit w/minimal customizing...it almost looks like Proline made it for a GT.
The rear of the body just barely rests on the top of the rear shock tower, even the rear body mounts line up!
Unfortunately, the fake engine will have to go once the MIP exhaust gets bolted up..
