I've also read some good reviews on the Tacon motors. I'm leaning toward a 13T at this time.

hobbywing ezruns are great systems.
their xerun line is even better, sensored, firmware updates.
i use xerun esc's in my race buggies/trucks. fantastic, easy to use systems.

i'd stick to hobbywing only though. there are knock offs out there that have really bad reviews.
i usually get mine on ebay.

Which combo do you run and in what? I plan on putting a Xerun or ezRun setup in my 10T (I run both the stock Stealth and one with the RPM trans). I'm leaning towards the Xerun because it's sensored - not much more expensive than sensorless.

my younger brother has one of the ezrun setups in his RC18 buggy, and it acts funny, idk if he messed it up or what, but instead of goin balls to the walls when he hammers on it, it pulses. Im still trying to figure it out...

I on the other hand have one of the flysky 2.4ghz systems with the lcd screen. For the 35 bux i paid (including shipping) its great. I like that it has the battery monitor because thats the one set of batteries i always forget about. Just waiting on more of the receivers to come in now, 7.50 a piece aint a bad deal in my eyes...

Stay away from the ribbed can version as they are 380 size rotors and get extremely hot and fail very easy. Hobbywing and yeh racing are good. For only a little extra sometimes u could get the castle SC sidewinder system and if u have dramas u don't have the trouble of trying to deal with some idiot who can't speak or understand engrish

I was thinking about the Castle SCT system for an RC10T. The only bad thing I heard about it was the ESC case was a little "cheap". The language barrier thing made me think twice about picking up Hobbywing stuff, I've heard pretty good things about Castle customer service.

Well, I made the plunge and got the 3500KV Tacon motor with the HobbyWing 35A ESC. So far so good. The motor runs very well and strong too. Temps are minimal with both nickel batteries and Lipos, as a matter of fact the ESC and motor barely get warm running it hard with 21/87, 21/84 gearing. I was running a Speed Gem 2 (blue can) with the same gearing and getting 20mph. With the BL I'm getting 30mph and out of sight acceleration. Speeds were verified with my GPS. I was using 3300ma nimh batteries and 4000ma 30C Gens Ace and 4000ma 30C Blue Lipos (hard case). If it holds out well, I'm switching all my brushed systems to this.

What transmission are you running? So you're getting 30 mph out of the new tacon motor?

I'm running a RC10T3 with stealth tranny stock tires. I think the 6 gear in my gold tube should hold up too. Yes, I got 29.9mph with 21/87 and 30.4mph with 21/84. I have to go easy on the throttle or else it spins out. I like it so far.
